| I think that one of the best things of war3 dota is its low system requirements. Cause of that, many of us, including my self, can play the game even with the low-end computer. But graphic is one thing that will surelly be changed in the DotA 2 and with it, the system requirements.
What do you think?

| Well from the article in the Game Informer that I read I dont think it will be too bad. They did say they planned on trying to keep it so that people with old computers would still be able to play. I wont have this problem on my main computer but I do have older ones in my house that I'd want to play it on for LAN games so I'm hoping they aren't lying. |

| Well if they want for people who play dota 1, which has low req,to switch to dota 2 they will have to do their best to keep req to minimum |

| Having a game with low system requirements is great. But this will somewhat affect the gameplay. So, if we are expecting a really awesome game with lots of new features, we should also be expecting huge system requirements. |

| I hope they put the effort in making a nice gameplay ahead of making it flashy and graphically nice. Or else it will end up quite like HoN, crowded with p12s... xD |

I agree. but seeing as how Valve has nice games, I don't think they'll have trouble in that department. |

| Many people don't have computers for new and demanding games, they can play DotA on their computers and that is enough for them. If Valve and Icefrog want to keep a lot of players in DotA 2 and make this game same popular, or even more popular than DotA 1, I think that they will make DotA 2 for computers which system requirements are good enough for DotA 1. |

They will certainly take care about that. As you say, one of the big advantages is DotA's low system req and i agree. Whats more, even with low syst req, it still looks pretty good. DotA 2 will surely look far more better than it's parent, but one question obtrudes.. How much good graphics we need to say that game is good-looking, but at the same time easy to follow? What i mean is that i really don't want to see Venom's or Tide's ult with thousands of particles which will, although they will look good, put enormous confusion on the screen? To much fancy colors for the game like DotA is suicide.. They will surely need to balance good graphic and fluid gameplay. |

| You are both right when you say that low req-s are one of the advantages. I have many friends who are casual players and play DotA just because of the fact they don't have to buy new comp. It would be good idea if Valve could create some advanced video options in the game so that we can change those options as much as we want, regarding of our computer. |

I agree. but making that kind of option will be hard on their part. |

I agree. but making that kind of option will be hard on their part. Although it's hard, it's pretty necessary from their side. DotA's low requirements was and is one of the main things why people played and still play it, and therefore, they surely need to put large amount of effort in that way, optimizing requirements as much as it's possible. |

It probably will, but even now we don't know any details about it's official release date, so it can be anything. They are acting like Blizzard, don't announce the game and you have all the time of the world to make it epic. |

| Just hoping it doesn't end up like Duke Nukem, but I don't think there's any risk for that. Icefrog talked about announcing the game in 2011, soo perhaps in early 2012? |

I am sure it will come out this year, as they told at the first place. Waiting until 2012 would be.. disaster.. |
