I have contacted VALVE about giving this website some beta keys, and will keep trying to make this website grow more and more...

Dear Valve,

I am amazed for the big effort you guys are doing, spreading games all around the world, would like to take a moment and talk about Beta Keys for Dota 2...
Spreading keys over the websites is a very nice idea... Playdota, gamersbook, etc... I just want add 1 website which I joined few days ago and can't keep my eyes out of it...
www.dota2portal.org you can check that website and see how great effort was spent over there to make it the perfect community for a gamer and players to chat and talk about everything...
Videos for Dota 2 are are also added, about each hero with small intro for all his levels and skills... it is truly amazing, Items guide and everything... It would be nice to give them a chance to grow more and more by visiting there website...

my request here is to give them some beta keys to spread it up in the website...
please don't ignore this message at least visit the website and see how great it is...

Well thank you kind sir. But really you shouldn't have. No they will think that we are asking our members to beg from valve to get keys. They will look at us probably like we look at those guys who go around the portal and say give me a key and beg for them. But thank you really much. We appreciate your effort.


Maybe in the future we will partner up with valve. Our manager is busy lately tho so we haven't had the opportunity to contact them yet.

I have tried the same thing for tournament hosting and i simply got ignored point blank. I sent an email outlining a ridiculous 64man 1vs1 tourney spread out over 2 days, with the main prize being a single dota2 beta key.....no response. Then i find out a few days later, RGC are having a 128man 1vs1 tourney with about 5 keys up for grabs so yeah gg. Thanks valve for caring about South African dota, oh wait you dont.

Its lame to be honest. It looks like they are basically almost only giving out to large Dota Clients.
Almost as if they dont really care about the smaller communities.
And i thought Gabe was all about the Little guy and being part of the community etc...

I just wish they would give keys to Twilight aswell since that is basically the only server where Southern Africa can play with minimal lag (I should know, I play from Namibia sometimes). Lostears, we should organize a tourney at OC for the chance to win a key if we were ever given one

I am really thankful to you that you sent this message, although i must c/p bane's answer. Cause i know you meant no harm, it's not a big deal. D2P has it's own strategy on how to get additional keys, so just stay tuned.

Wow, great effort mate, really hope they take notice of your email. They should indeed give more keys to D2P, not just PD. i think it is so unfair that PD requires you to have signed up before the giveaway to take part in it. There have been so many people that have gotten more than 1 invite already and others that have been trying so hard yet not get a single one i.e. me lol..
