well, Valve released TF2 as f2p, so we can expect some next games will be f2p also (including Dota 2)
and Valve is stinking rich already, they don't mind losing a percent of their money

Nope, Valve said that after making tf free to play, they do not intend to make their other games free also. Read, dota 2. But that's fine imo. As long as they do not charge it like full game. That would be epic fail.
