I'm not sure what it is but there is something going on. For the last two weeks there has been downtime for basically no reason. Whatever the cause of the problem is it doesn't seem like they can fix it permanently. Perhaps the game is being killed for dota 2 on purpose, the conspiracy theorist in me could see it. One thing I know for certain though is that if dota 2 came out right this second, Hon would die.

Yeah right now I can't login, often matchmaking doesn't weak. Chat server usually broken, stat retrieving is usually messed up. Sometimes it works, for example 25 minutes ago match making came back online and was working. Now you can't even login, its been like this consistently. If dota 2 were to release this exact second every hon player would buy it.

For 2 weeks servers were temporary crashing and twice on weekend (almost every saturday) HoN was offline. Fun fact is that they still got a golden server for their shop with alt avatars...

Temporary crashes that lasted quite a while. Unstable as hell. Then S2 spits in our face by releasing a patch with paid content. Yea like anyone want's to give you money after the poorest handling of the DDOS attacks.

EDIT: For 2 weeks? HA its been longer than that, and not just at the weekends, this has been through the week too.

i played HoN open beta and i was dissapointed in that cheap ripoff of dota...litterally after the open beta is officially closed and they made us pay for that game i said "what the f**k" and deleted it from my OS

HoN fell victim to a ddos attack aka denied of service. This happens when someone intentionally sends a shit ton of information to the servers. I personally think this is one of the reasons that we've seen some increased activity on the portal but it might just be a coincidence.

but even the gameplay was fked up with some weird abilities between other things

Well there's been a bunch of crap going on recently, they finally were able to sort out whoever was DDOS'ing them previously then recently got targeted by lulzsec so not much to say there if CIA can't handle them i doubt a tiny company like S2 could.

In regards to HoN dying I dunno, i played through close/open beta and release. Depending on DotA2 i may or may not switch. main difference is the speed of the game.

lol, not. They hacked sony (playstation network xD) and Brink , which is from bethesda, but they didnt do anything over there because they said "We want skyrim to be released fast" xD

HoN is going to die now.
When DotA 2 will be released, then the game dies, the only players back is the new people.
All the HoN Veterans (Including me) will be off this game. $2 ruined their game, and is ruining themselves.
