I don't know about you guys, but I think it's quite "inconvenient" to have to view that large banner at the head of the forum.
It's useful and nice on the Portal page, but it's quite uncomfortable to have to scroll down from the top of the page to view the sub-forums.

Once again, I don't know about you guys, but I find the links to choose the sub-forums rather "large" and "inconvenient".
They require a lot of scrolling for such a limited quantity of sub-forums to choose from. Should be smaller, perhaps, but I don't know if the software used will allow this.

When you post a link or image using the "option" or whatever it's called (not typing the code manually), the link/image ends up being posted at the bottom of the text, and should be where the blinking-bar-for-typing-thing was last located. I'm stupid.



Finally, let it be known that GravedamN and Gravedesigns Inc. have no feud with the great adminstration of this friendly forum. (Too friendly, as a matter of fact. Makes me feel like I'm being trolled by an entire forum in a weird voodoo sort of manner.)
I just wish to point out some MINOR details that can be adjusted to enhance the forum's user-friendliness.
I am aware that there will be some or many individuals (if not all) who disagree with my post and I am willing to cope with the harsh criticism that accompanies such a disagreement.
Moderators/Admins, feel free to close this thread if the need arises or if there's no need for the thread anymore.

I like it personally. The size of the forum sections is big enough to not need to scroll down that much. Actually I'm scrolling alot less here than Dota-two.com for example.

About the img code, I totally agree, some other codes have that problem as well afair.

I agree that the size of the sections is good, but when other sub-forums come into play (like in PD, for example) there'll be a problem. It's appropriate now because there are only a few sections. Should have stated that in my OP.

I agree with the image code, I had to cut+paste for that.

Scrolling is not problem, for image code i agree to, and banner for me is ok!

First of all, i don't want to make this forum just like another copy/paste forum's through out the net. those icons we have and those banners, make us unique.

Bug regarding img code will be fixed pretty soon. Till then it's much easier to actually type

Try it and you will see it's much faster, even with working button. (when there are tons of text)

To be honest I am tired of hearing the "I don't wanna change it because I like it because it keeps us different than any other copy and paste forum out there" excuse for not doing something. If you want to be different think of an awesome new way to do something, make your hero database flashy and amazing, the forums on the net are one way because they have gone thru so many different versions and changes and that is the way that worked. Honestly when I hear that now it seems like your either to lazy to want to fix it or you have grown to personally attached to it and don't wanna change it because you think it looks good no matter who else comments on it.

It's shame you r only few weeks here with us, when portal is very near it's final look. Also, it's shame i do not have some kind of progression thread where you would see (very) old days of portal, with literally hundreds of missing things and dozens of pretty hardcore bugs. So, let this be the last time you called me a lazy person.

I feel i should tell you, not you in particular, but to all of you, smth pretty important. This should spread some light on some things. Hopefully.

When I heard about Dota 2 coming out, 10-11 months ago, i was very determined to open my own simple forum for discussion. I had 0 capital and 0 knowlege about javascript, html and css. So, some random guy with only good will want's to open his own small fan page. Exactly me.
After some time, we thought we should start making some changes. We didn't even have portal page at that time. I spent huge amount of time finding solutions over internet for problems we had, and that's ok of course. Dota2portal was only a dream cause at that time we only had free sub-domain named dota2.forumhr.com. Stone age of D2P.
Now, 10 months later, we have 3000 members and 15 000 posts. Only this month, we got 1000 new members. And that's huge thing for such a young site. You think that someone lazy could do smth like that?

Of course, i could do nothing without huge support of members and their feedback. So, don't think i do not appreciate your feedback Wivot, you actually managed to talk me into changing some huge things over here, after i did some thinking. But with some things, i do not agree. Reason why i don't agree with them is simply cause i know that present look is fine.
