autoattack - on or off?

Auto attack will give less clicking when melee heroes press the S button to get last hits :/

Hrm, does Dota 2 have a console command to enable auto attacking? because we can just bind the option to turn on or off auto attacking at ease. When we play melee or range we can just switch, and juking while playing ranged really sucks because i auto attack by accident and it gives my location away.

Go options, gameplay and look for Auto Attack.

I never played without auto attack , it's the way I've learned to play from Dota 1 . But it might actually have some advantages. I will check it out and come with a reply

Juking is much easier and lasthittings too but very much depending on your playstyle.

Auto attack on sometimes will KILL you if you're trying to hide away from enemy in the jungle between trees. If you leave it on, when they walk past and within range of attack , you will come out from your hiding spot and reveal yourself. I always have my Auto attack off. Very Happy

For me autoattack off makes it a lot easier to get last hits/denies. I mainly play ranged, so I don't know if there's an advantage with melee

Indeed, there's much more disadvantages to it than advantages.
I guess it's mostly for players new to MOBAs, who don't really understand the concept of last hitting yet.

Autoattack off option gives several advantages in terms of last hitting. Whenever you press S button, even if you are being attacked, your hero will not be triggered by any action. However, in some cases it may become fatal and lead to unexpected consequences.

There are alot of advantages,when you need to give asistance on the other side of the map imo with clock with autoatack off ,while dueling wiht another guy you would be doing 0 dmg to him,or most importantly after you use spectres ulty when chasing somebody you stop its like srsly auto atack on gives alot of advantages and makes you alot more relaxed in a game.

The only guys that should have it of always are suports so they dont steal the farm otherwise i vote for auto-atack on ,alot of big changes if you take it off,like 1 click jungling while spoting the map for potential victims with furion,or invoker mid etc.

I believe auto-atack is much more effective because using HOLD than STOP gives u no problems at all.Its easier to last hit etc.

Auto-attack on, it seem normal, easier to dota1 players in many actions, we feel comfortable or sthing.
Auto-attack off, after reading above, i think it's better for last hitting and ganking, most of it. I just think about sometimes we not control our hero and he just stand still when see some enemy that we can kill pass by.

auto attack off all the way, gives you less chances to fail juking, ganking or chasing and i also find it easier to last hit creeps.

i like it when it is off,cuz for example if you play with bounty hunter or rikimaru (both got windwalk-invisibility) if you stay near creeps or heroes,your hero will atack it and that atack will break invis,this is one reason,i got few....
