The Archives (named Graveyard)

This is basically a section where all old/closed threads go for storing and future referencing. This keeps the portal a lot tidier and makes searching for old/closed threads much more efficient for future reference. I think it is better than deleting the threads

They did of course, but mehz asked about some kind of more advanced archs.

And what difference is now compared to last time?

I was asking about archives where as I described, all old/closed threads get moved to and that in each forum there would be a sticky with a link to the forum but if it is there then people can just go and look at it so no need for sticky.

Basically i think the idea is. well what i discussed with mehzor. was an archive thats not only an archive, but an accessible archive were users can view old news, posts, reviews, threads. but cannot post or make additions to them. basically a trash bin type scenario

This would allow freedom to make new posts. and always have reference, ability's to old posts without clogging up forum space. normal post space, or announcement/sticky pastes, ( like my reviews for example on linux. you dont want 10 stickied reviews it will just take up space on the forum section )

this would also make it alot easier for admin's to find old threads for FAQ and stickys with useful links to old posts without going through pages and pages of content once the forum gets even more populated. only threads that have been closed. or non discussed ( but are helpful ) would be archived

True, but archives must be quite organized to carry out this. Cause either way, it will still be lost somewhere in the archives...

Well I don't mind keeping it organised just need power to move all the stuff :/ Also currently, it can only be seen by mods and senior members so we'll have to wait a bit on that to see what happens

Don't think any1 would look at the archives anyway, which will be abt 1K Pages long in 2 years...

I for one think this idea is stupid all old threads get closed anyways so if you want to see old thread you just go to the last page. I think it's no need for all closed threads to be moved it's just simply stupid in my opinion.
