I did this, because I have been commending all the supports, and I noticed that they really try their best to support after I commend them. So if everyone have the habit of thanking someone who picks a support on a game, maybe more people will pick supports, and they won't screw with the game also. Sometimes people picks a support only to mess with the game because everyone picked carriers and etc. Why not commend the only one who picked a support and let him know that? At least YOU will have a perfect support from him right? This need to be changed in Dota 2!!!

Other thing that must change is the habit of raging about everything and everyone... But that is other subject... And maybe impossible haha...

I'm playing SUPPORT full time

Gogo guys! lets make people pick supp! !

We forced our always stoned friend to pick support, was not a good idea It took out a lot of attention from us to keep monitoring his moves and explaining where to put those wards, even if he has played like 400-500 games.

People who wants to become better players should not be forced to pick support. They just need to look up such videos on YouTube as the Understanding your role, Jungling guides, Last hitting, etc.
There are couple of YT chanels which makes several kind of useful videos (D2P, XVRG, DC,...) which lifts a lot on player's skill if he's not only watches, but understands and realizes them.

Of course playing and practicing is the most important element becoming a better player, but for a lot of people it's VERY slow to see through even on the smallest sections of the game. "Being led" by these videos prevents of losing tons of easy games.
One thing i miss from l2p videos by the way: Telling people NOT to try every movement they just saw before they would practice it vs bots. (specially for the jungling tips)

Good. I'm supporter for 10 years. I can play carry or tank, but nothing can replace my supporting role!

I'm another support player here. I started playing DotA with Lich since I found him to be really cool-looking. I personally thought he was one of those heroes that would just jump in and kill people but, even though it took some time, I realized that he was more of a support hero. Wards, couriers, upgrading couriers, salves, you name it. I've played a lot of games where I prefer playing as support than the carry. Of course, that doesn't limit me to only being able to play support. I play tanks, junglers and carries too. Glad to know that there are still people who enjoy playing support and appreciate one. Sadly though, nobody really commends me for playing support. A comment of "Good support" at the end of the match is good enough for me though!

Since most of my favourite heroes are supp I fully support this idea
And I'm also sick and tired of blaming the support for a lost game, shouting feeder and stuff.
Most support don't even have a escape mechanism and are paper-thin, if you don't take care of them, they can't take care of you

Well. This idea is quite nice, tho. I mean, picking a support in pub is a shitty live, and thanks whose pick those heros is just what we all should do.
