New Players Empty
PostSubject: New Players

How should I start this...I have played 4 games in a row with new players (they don't even know the name of the hero they chose)...and I feel like iecfrog or valve should do something about this. Now before anyone starts telling me to stop crying or anything along the line...please consider what I have to say. Dota 2 is a game that has enormous amount of gameplay integrated in it. In newbie guides everywhere, they teach about laning, ganking, phrases of the game(early, mid, and late), different hero types, etc. What I feel missing from new players are not only limited to these. In a game of dota, situation changes between each phrase of the game depending on skill levels of players, hero picks and combination, team cooperation, etc. For me, my best hero currently is bristleback(not out yet), my second best is slardar. I know their strengths and weaknesses, furthermore, I know what their skills do to heroes (sure everyone does after reading skill description), but a slardar stun may take off 1/3 of Crystal Maiden's HP versus taking off 1/15 of Skeleton King's hp. During the hero selection screen, I can make off what kind of damage, carrying/tanking ability the other team has. Now everything is about me because I know my own style of playing in dota 2, but I am just making a point of how a player whom has extended dota experience versus a new player to dota 2 can impact a game. In conclusion, I feel dota requires instinct, and that is something that can't be obtained just by reading guides, it has to be gained through playing it. And most importantly: IT ONLY TAKES ONE NEW PLAYER TO RUIN A GAME. I think Icefrog or valve should divide players into new players and experienced player, maybe experienced player can play in a different zone, so they don't have to deal with new players. Maybe something like new players have to play 50 games in order to have the option of joining the experienced zone. What do you guys think?

P.S. I understand that everyone was a noob once, that is why I suggest there should be different areas where noobs are allowed to practice until they are adequate enough to play with experienced players.

Yeah player skill range is a big challenge to valve and IF.....thats why they will add in-game coach & guide feature

btw you play on MM or Practice/private macth ?? (if you play it on practice/private match its your fault)

I think in MM valve already add system to match ppl based on Party vs party , game Stats ,later MMR

i already play 80 hour and never meet "fresh new player" using MatchMaking system

Even i know to ruin the games after 5-6 years of Dota. Not on purpose of course, simply because of the shitty lane or bad luck you encounter in every 100 games.

What you told above is true, but not so easily fixable. Maybe coaching system will help out slightly, but till then, there is not much you can do.

Yes, at the beginning, you can choose whether you are new to MOBAs or not. And you have to remember new people have no idea what to do- why not help them instead of throwing them in with everyone else who has no idea what's going on.
