1) If a post is deleted, which is a thread-starter, it's possible that a good discussion may be deleted. Seeing that many threads are created, many good discussions can be deleted by deleting posts.

2) Even if the post is not a thread starter, it may be involved, along with many others, in a productive debate. Removing these posts will end up with seemingly strange discussions. A simple example:
-Yes
-No
-Yes
-No

This will become:
-Yes
-Yes

This is not a typical example, but on a large and detailed scale, multiplied by the great amount of possible threads, a lot of dota2portal threads will contain useless information.


These two points lead to many problems with just one member. Now imagine when there are hundreds of cases.

My point is that this punishment may seem suitable, but it's not necessarily in the best interest of the Portal. A lot of productive debates, threads and information may be lost, or rather, will surely be lost.

This can be avoided with other forms of punishment, namely temporary and permanent banning.

The best system I've seen is undoubtedly that of PlayDotA.com. If the Administration decides to take this seriously, Sven2k will gladly go through the trouble of posting PD's system for me.

Also, I encourage members/councillors/nerds moderators to suggest their own systems.

All our work should be in the best interest of the Portal. For not considering the problem of deleting many posts, Avalon and Fiyah deserve some good BDSM spanking.

@Avalon: I know, but when the site gets bigger, you will need to take action against some individuals and what I am saying is that deleting their posts may not be such a good thing for the forum.

Why don't you fix this now? Why wait until more members show up? It is better to fix it now and get it out of the way then have to deal with it when a mass of members come. If you want I can help you write out a draft.

I suggested something similar to PD's. I think PD has the best moderating system out there.

Then we must beat PD's moderating system
