The only way I think a person would actually get rid of Map Hackers is to either Play better then them, or just let VAC handle the Hackers out there cause what I have heard about VAC is that it will get you.... eventually.

I don't think Map HAck will ever be a problem in DotA2, just because i'm a (minor) "programmer" myself and i know it will be hard to hack in the Engine\Code that will be constantly update (online game)

Hackers are humans to, the need ENOUGH motivation to hack, say it money, hate, grudge etc.

Unlike WC3 old engine which is known to it flaws.

maybe as DotA 2 will be release, maphackss will also be released...........

Now sereausly, eliminating map hack should be the FIRSAT PRIORITY for the creators of the game....forget about the lag, graphics, recconect, new heroes etc.., there's simply no fun playing with a bunch of maphackers

Im pretty sure the info will be server sided like HoN and LoL, so the game can't be hacked

Maphackers that has been detected will be banned and maybe a script that blocks all attempt of connection to dota 2 server from that IP address? I don't know if there' something like that...
so player might think ' id rather play nicely than maphack which risk i cant play dota 2 forever...'

That's why dota 2 needs to be one time payment. hackers won't dare to risk their one and only account

Or you can do what hon did to leavers. If you leave you play against other leavers so if someone maphacks they wil have to fight other maphackers. Btw how often do you people even play against maphackers? GEEZ I don't think I've ever played against a mhr

there wont be a maphack in new games wait for 1 year and maphack will be created.

I think the reason why i have not seen any hacks for hon, maybe they are im not too sure, is because the games are hosted on servers which makes the hacks server sided

U r right. Dota 2 will also be like that.

Lamers play map hack!!!!!!!!! Maybe they will be map hack in DotA 2 but there will be less map hacker than DotA.

They are going to use VAC for sure and i probably works like it does in every valve game. It detects most of the hacks/cheats. But doesnt detect "private" hacks which are made by some imbagosu-chinese guy in hes basement (no offence imbagosu-chinese guy :I) but you probably need to pay for "vac" proof hacks, sure there are free also. But free usually are not vac proof.
