This was an interesting read.
Very good article (don't have any other word for it). In my opinion, the two most important bits are - Spoiler:

Do not accept anything by mere tradition -- (i.e., thinking that it has thus been handed down through many generations). Do not accept anything by mere suppositions. Do not accept anything by mere inference. Do not accept anything by merely considering the reasons. Do not accept anything merely because it agrees with your pre-conceived notions. Do not accept anything merely because it seems acceptable -- (i.e., thinking that as the speaker seems to be a good person his words should be accepted). Do not accept anything thinking that the ascetic is respected by us (therefore it is right to accept his word).
and - Spoiler:
The Buddha not only speaks of the futility of offering prayers but also disparages a slave mentality. A Buddhist should not pray to be saved, but should rely on himself and win his freedom.
My conclusion is that - religion promotes slave mentality whose followers take rumors, hearsay or anything for granted, whereas Buddhism favours questioning in order to gain (absolute) knowledge as well as teaches one to rely on himself only.

| Lol soz Qass it was pretty much a short essay on certain feelings i have about religion. I think its for the best that it was removed. In hind sight i realize it was a stupid post to start with. It was more of a rant then anything else. Not worth reading to be honest. You are lucky you missed it, you saved 2 mins of your life by not being able to read it |

| bad day in scrabble, I picked the rarest letters used in the alphabet every time(i.e. Z,Q,X etc.) and barely picked a vowel in an internet cafe, we are having a lan game with my friends then the power was cut >  in an another cafe, i lost with one of my fave heroes( doom, and it's his first loss :O) coz of guys COACHING my enemies, grrrrr someone at school replaced me with my position at kickball for tomoorrow >.< overall, a really really bad day |
