Sky wrath is the newest hero added to dota 2, i want opinions on:
counters
good teamates
items
combos
and others...

yes, in our Sky wrath meta here in dota 1 is solo mid max arcane bold balance the silence and slow then when you get lvl 6 you'll gonna rape any squishy hero ingame.

Pugna and Nyx absolutely destroy Skywrath.

Actualy pugna is the biggest counter for like ever ,i mean you get hit for 1.6 k dmg almost at lvl 16 for tryng to cast your ultimate not to mention if you die you won't cast it ..

Anyway its a way of trolling since you can get a blademail and activate it always before you use ulty so at least you kill pugna non stop (he has same hp as you).

Now to be on topic with the build and skill-set:
-start with 1 arcane bolt on mid/1 level in slow on side-lane
-take second spell arcane/slow
-on mid max arcane bolt/on side max slow bolt
-always max silencer the second spell and take it at level 4.

Item build:-Arcane boots/or treads ( still i prefer arcane bigges mana pool)
-get an perseverance
-build up necronomicon 1/2/3
-build up rod of atos
-transform perseverance into bloodstone
-get your hex
-finish with a linkin/shiva

You have to buy and max the spells in that exact order to get as most as possible.

Starting items : 2 tangos 2 mantles 2 branches

i tryed it yesterday! I really loved it.

Sky is an optional pick, you will never want to pick that Hero in the first few picks. If an enemy team has something like Puck, Omni or Storm Spirit (Something that relies completely on its spells), 6 second of silence is very devastating for them.

Luckily, there are some items like Rod of Atos and/or Force Staff which will increase Sky's survivabilty and are also doing a great int boost for your Q and mana poll. But yeah, till he gets some items, he will be a food for everyone. Perfect example for the glass cannon.

Pugna best in game right now compared to all the skywrath pickups

Not if you troll pugna with a blademail,trust me he will never want to put down that ward.

One thing i do not understand is how people can't figure out the skills on this character. On pubs there are people casting silence at you on level 1 just for no reason, or maxing concusive shot first, ofc slow is not bad, but why not max out nuke?

Skywrath in my opinnion is one good hero,but he is dieng too fast and if he doesn't get farmed at start he is worth nothing and as some people said nyx and pugna are destroying him and some other heroes like Pudge and others

I really like his spells from an aesthetic point of view (especially his ulti: LASERS PEW PEW) but i think his spells are too expensive. You can really only play him well if you have a good start or are defending your base and have your fountain near . He has to go mid in my opinion and he can work wonders in the hand of a capable and patient player (see dendi's perfomance with him lately) but I think he needs a lot of farm and a little setup for his ult. All in all he is a nice nuker with severe mana problems imo.

Templar assassin mid makes Skywrath mage useless.You do no damage at all with your nukes.Its irritating

Best combo is clock or bane + SWM.
Then you can ofc easily combo with slowing items like Ethreal Blade and Rod of Atos.

Sky's good teamates would be a Stun that would last 2+ seconds for his ultimate to land on completely on one hero to focused for example, an Elune's Arrow can 5 sec stun. Which helps sky land his ulti perfectly on the enemy hero.

And Yes, PUGNA will literally DESTROY you if he doesn't up his third you'll be lucky. But if he will, then GL with your game

SM is now used by Navi so much LOL
A good solo mid, easy ganker, late game not quite good but acceptable.
Anw, in the right hand, any hero can be a god

I like him, he is pretty op.

an amazing ganker and good mid solo... buy some tp in lvl 4 and the ganks in the hard lane are so easy !!

Never tried yet, but for public matches on the level of under 1000 games, it's mostly just a useless character.
Very similar to Pugna in that way, that if someone knows how to control he can win; but in the most cases it becomes a weak nuker who highly needs teammates with him. Overall result depends on it's early game movements; the more ganks/kills he gets, the more utility he will have.
I'm not a fan of him

i though his model will be more awesome but what ever suits me that way too since i dont play him tha often

Sky's combo is very strong with nice cooldown.
At lv 6, with 1 ally, his team can easily get 1 kill/ min.

Beastmaster, clock, tide, and long stunners to keep a target in position. Your bestest friends. Beware of burst damage heroes, you are food to them. especially nyx and pugna. Actually i've never seen a pugna vs skywrath. Not sure if its really devastating though. But I kinda liked skywrath. Like his voice and animations.
