Why do you play DotA/Dota 2?

The thread name speaks for itself. I think it would be interesting to hear it from people why they play this game.

Why do you chose DotA/Dota 2 over HoN/LoLSCII/WoW/CS or whichever competitive games?

Mhm...Yeah I will make you a question.Why do you play competitve games.

I dont really know why i do play competitive games.Maybe because i started gaming at the early age of 3.Maybe because i started DotA with some friends of mine .And ended up addicted.I dont really know.Or even the dream of becoming a professional.The only thing that i can actualy say is that i dont intend to quit gaming any time soon.

DOTA is the source of LOL/HON

actualy i dont have more important things to do.Just because Gaming is pretty much my whole life.Thats why i cant understand it.

"facepalm" I read something else......I though that you finished 1 game on a day or two.Not that you play 1 game at the duration of 1day or two.........Anyway.I use to play 5-6 hours per day .And do something else on my computer for 1-2 hours.I rarely get out of my home by any means.Except work/school etc.

I play it to enjoy a mental challenge in good company, as I mostly play with 4 other guys in teamspeak etc. So basically to socialize with like-minded =).

I first start playing with friend war3 on lan, than we got little high and start with dota, from that to now i try HoN for 2-3 game's but not like, for me when i'm start play dota all other copy of dota are nothing special, and now with dota 2 it's much bigger and better for play and i don't have wish to change to go in LoL, HoN and other.
