I haven't translated the whole interview, because there were some questions regarding recent DotA news. I mostly translated questions & answers that are relevant to Dota 2. Enjoy!


Q:Which continent do you think will lead the competition, and who are the top 3 teams?
Artstyle: Knowing a lot about Dota 2 that most of the readers don't know, i would put it this way - Dota 2 is all over the place, it is too random. I think that Nevo will be champions, because they seem to be playing more than any other team and they are succeeding. The game is new, and after playing the Chinese i im confident to say that they don't have an advantage. They are actually pretty confused and despaired.


Q: Teams such as Mi.Asus, Mith.trust, MuFc and Scythe and other undergogs will be present at Gamescom, how do you view their chances? Have you already played Dota 2 with them?
Artstyle: Well, we played against them on american servers with equal ping, and we won. I would not call them underdogs; Mith.trust defeated Nirvana at WDC, Scythe won the first ESWC and are regularly posing a threat to China, MuFc were good too, they won some asian league.


Q: What are your thoughts after playing Dota 2, any favourite heroes?
Artsyle: The first impression was not very positive, but i eventually got used to it and starting enjoying the game, which happened after Valve listened to our suggestions and changes were applied. My favourite hero in Dota 2 is sven.


Q:What is your view on mechanics and the game balance? Was the transition between DotA and Dota 2 difficult?
Artstyle: Indeed it was kind of hard, especially the first couple of days. Basically, Dota 2 is the same thing but cooler.

Q: Are you going to continue playing DotA after Gamescom?
Artstyle: Ofcourse yes, since Dota 2 is going to be released a while after.

Q: Lets talk about your team. How are Lost and Puppey doing?
Artsyle: It's all going well. They are even giving orders and stuff. With their arrival, we are getting more ideas and we are helping each other in-game.


Q: Which client do you use for playing DotA?
Artsyle: Since i have recieved my copy of Dota 2, i haven't played (pubs) at all. Before i used to play a lot on Darer, i was the champion of 2 seasons. In september there will be prices - Dota 2 keys for either top 10 or top 20, i can't recall.


Q: Why do you play on Darer and not on leagues / ICCup?
Artsyle: First of all, Darer pays their prices (unlike Iccup). The games aren't easier than on leagues because when you are at the top, there is heavy competition and you actually have to put some effort in your games. The difference between Darer and ICCup is huge, its like sky (Darer) and ground (ICCup), since the hostbots don't lag and the admins are ready to help. I believe Darer has a future, becayse they want to improve. I will soon start streaming Darer games for Na'Vi, I will have my stream with chat were people can ask, give suggestions etc...


Q: So would you recommend Darer over other platforms?
Artsyle: I would expect people to start playing on Darer after watching my streams, because the platform is rich with innovation and willing to improve. Also, the fact that problems whether those are lags or just hostbot problems are fixed not long after one reports them.


Q: Have you played Rage of Titans? (RoT is a new MOBA game that is in open beta).
Artstyle: No i haven't.

Ofcourse theres going to be differences, i think he probly had expectations of the game (like everybody else) and he was disappointed that it possibly wasnt what he expected. As you can see in the article the team made their suggestions and things are better now. So im sure for us the entry experience of the game will be a lot smoother and closer to home then what it was for them.

So do not despair, be positive. Valve never fails to impress. Hang tight guys

Yea, i also noticed that sentence while reading the post for first time few days ago, but i didn't think it was neccessary to comment it. As we are all aware, Gamescom dota 2 is in Beta state. After the tour, which should rise the hyp to maximum, we will probably know when to expect public beta. So after tons of testing and walls of text of feedback, we should have our Dota 2 1.0 V ready to buy.

Second thing, we are counting on mid fall, just as first news told, so his comment was kinda expected.

Yay. honestly. Artstyle, the guy who pushes a tower toplane (being in scourge) with a healing-ward-Juggernaut like 5-7 minutes in, and actually wins whole the game. And an uber troll in commentaries, official statements, and such. A true slave-brother (is that that the correct way to refer to peoples such as ukranians, russians, poles, croatians, slovaks, and such? )
