i doubt its real, if you were contacted for beta. you would have recieved an email with a key. and that key would have to be inserted into steam to activated the product, without it been activated in steam. it would not work, its just a direct download so id definatly say its fake.

is the email from steam regarding the beta key the same format like when you receive an email when you login on steam on a different pc?
