I always thought Weaver was a spider, but as it happens, it's a grasshopper. And really weird even for that. Prepare your anti-bug sprays, you are going to need it.
Vengeful spirit. If you thought with more detailed models and proper rendering and lights you are going to jizz from the awesome sacred and sexy spirit, welcome to Dota 2! We have no such thing. Vengeful spirit is surely a vengence against all of you who hoped for some smacksy look.
Also Sven looks a bit weird, but his sword is big enough to compensate for that (yes, it can do that).
I saw Shadow Shaman only on thumbnail pic, but he looks more like a slavemaster or Shen from LoL than the good old Rhasta from original Warcraft.

The original weaver was at least dark and hardcore... this one looks like some colorful frog combined with a grasshopper and not like a frightening spider

I am here to tell you my own opinion about your subject of change regarding the Physical Appearance of DotA II's League of Heroes.

DotA II copied the basic characteristic and attributes from the original DotA, thus they are absolutely different.
Things will absolutely change (Physical Appearance, Skills, Items, Graphics and more!) since this is a sequel/new series of DotA.

Therefore, we should expect that DotA II will give us shocking changes so players will play it more than the other DotA-like games.

This doesn't mean that I am disagreeing with your Typical idea, I myself want it to be more realistic (Like the Vengeance thing on Vengeful Spirit) but this is a new series of DotA, Creators changes everything according to their own will and that for them will make the game more uniquely than the other.

You gotta remeber than Blizzard have copyrights on their lore. Which means that - Pandaren (Storm Spirit + Pandaren Brewmaster) and Nerubian (Weaver + Nerubian Assassin) cannot be ported to Dota 2 with their original models. I know - it sucks, but there isn't much we can do.

Maybe one day, someone will release a fan-made model pack with improved (high resolution) Pandaren and Nerubian models so we can replace the existing Dota 2 models.

I just don't understand why they did not port Vengeful Spirit. VS is just a ghost of a female elf. It's not like Blizzard have copyright on Elves...

I can't even watch the stream, but the pictures I see so far aren't at all impressive.

I do feel that they went too much out of their way to be more original, but I guess we'll get used to the new look of he game if the UI is improved, as what we see now is pretty out dated.

Whysorage over new models??
We all knew it was a new game and that there will be Copyright issues as mention before.

When the time comes, look past the cosmetics, play the game and enjoy it.
Don't shoot it down before you have not played it.

I'm just expressing my disappointment over some of the heroes models. Wheter you agree or not, that's my opinion. I know what everything caused all the changes, I know there were several issues, but that doesn't mean I will settle for something less just because of that.
I will play the game no matter what, but if people wouldn't express their disapproval, things would never move for the better (the same goes with coming up with totally new stuff and not giving a crap about peoples disapproval). That's just the way it is.

for this point I agree..myb some cool effect (like hon ending) << although ending visual is not important enough coz we want directly to see Full score board.....Imagine how many time we skip game Cinematic (non-dota game) at end or before game start..we just want to directly play it
