But in higher division games I can agree with the problem, that's why games like that hardly ever are -ar.
It's a hard thing to balance, though, cause if you do balance it by some rule of "2 str, 1 agi, 2 int", all the fun of getting a random team disappears. And it's not always the main attribute (str, agi, int) that matters for in game role. Storm, for example, is one of the best carries in game and Venomancer is an excellent support.

you do have a point, but having a balanced ar mode could be infact be useful, other than being it fun.

and dividing the hero roles, they could always divide it into 2 main roles. like 3 hitters( str,agi,int), 2 supports( str,agi,int). ie. hitters could be full tanks, initiators, hard carries, semi-carries, gankers. and supports could be baby sitters, roamers, gankers.

Word ichti, but I didn't want to bring up the "tank"-discussion ^^

And to Avalon, I dont't think that a nuker is needed for a good team. A nuker if most often only good for an early-game advantage, so I would instead like to change that one to a ganker. Most nukers are gankers though, perhaps semi-gankers.

There are no clear lines for what an initiator is, what a ganker is etc., it's all about how you play them, what team you have and what you're facing. I've played carry-techies with butterfly, buriza, satanic and divine, but that does not make him a good carry. It was all about that my opponents sucked.

yes, but, it also depends on what hero you are getting. I mean, you just dont put items on a hero because that Item is Kick-ass.

I can't really see what you mean, but about kick-ass items, since I only play pub I always go kick-ass items. Of course some good items, but a gg-branch at the end is needed to make the victory taste right

Most balanced way is to simply alt qq ar games.

Hahaha, definetly! That's why i always ask for mode before the game. I don't remember when was the last time i played ar.

I almost always go random even if I play ap. The extra 250g is nice, and I like the variation. ^^

That's good, but if you got some hero who is not for that game, you have to repick and you lose that 250 gold... and if you got bad hero again... that's not good

I never type -random just because i don't wont to end up with boring heroes. That's why i search for ap or sd to have a chance to play with heroes i like.

I get frustrated when host tipes -ar for no apparent reason ? I just can't play some heroes.. But i think everyone gets most frustrated when enemy hero escapes with like 4-5 HP :@

Yeah but it's always so satisfying when you're the one that escapes with 4-5HP.

I don't play AR because I'm not a fan of the luck factor in games. That and I hate playing carries.

Hmm.. If DotA2 was ever meant to be completely DIFFERENT or upgraded in some point, then I could suggest:

* Better graphics for the close-up of the hero's head
* A new look on the targeting system, which looks a lot like a gun's
* Hmm, I guess how the things would look like in red hp or full hp, I mean objects moving in red hp don't even have scars at some point.
* Improved map!
* An AI going to take place when a gamer quits the game.
* Bugs are of no case, most games today have bugs and, it's quite inevitable. ^^
* More power!

An AI will take place when gamer quits. But the programing AI could be pretty complicated, so i hope they won't have too much problems with that.

the AI system is actually one of the first things Valve and Icefrog were working on. hopefully, they got that out of the way and started with other projects for DotA 2.

Pub games with completely unbalanced players like a team fulled of noobs and other one fulled of pros, and also all this F******* LEAVERS AAAAARGH. A ranking system and ranking matches in Dota 2 is one of the things that im more excited about. Sometimes i spend in Garena over 5 hours to find only 20 leaver games and noobs and no real DotA... AAAAAA>.> its awful

and i believe that this will make the difference, way better than having an AI to control leavers, because when you join a ranked match you know pro players wont leave

Even in hlr-s there would still be mutants who ruin the game. I m for making full status for each registered member. It's wins, losses, disconections, and more.

I think they MUST make ranking system,or some kind of "summoner level"(those who played LoL know what i'm talking about) and i like the whole "searching game" system from LoL, they made it good, they balance your summoner level with others, and you can search games in team ofc..so I think they should do that, and reconnect option ofc.furthermore, ranking system should be able to punish leavers,drastical!for instance, dota-league principle(+5 points for win,-3 for defeat and -10 FOR LEAVER!) should be here too, that really scares leavers ;)
all in all, can't wait

As much as i have seen of Dota 2, not even the graphics can be such a great improvement as a ranking system, that is going to make the game totally worth playing, noobs happily learning the game with noobs, pros happily with challinging games against pros, leavers mad with other leavers, lol, it is going to be sooo happy =]

Exactly.

Its not something IN dota but while I'm playing it parents will sometimes tell me to get off which ends up making me a leaver T.T
