Running away and click accidentaly on the minimap Empty
PostSubject: Running away and click accidentaly on the minimap

Hello,

one needs to quickly turn tail and in the rush of running away from the enemy accidentaly clicks on the minimap and runs back TOWARDS him. I mean... come on! Such a frustrating stupid moment mostly resulting in death and is caused by milimeters of bad cursor positioning. Because the minimap is so freaking close to the point you want to click away. And it happens again and again...

Therefore I demand a shrobbery for each such a death!

And also pretty please would anyone implement something like "only double clicking on the minimap" makes the character move so no such frustrating and stupid mistakes can happen again? Maybe like an option to check or a key to be assigned or something...

Thanks,
Nikanuur

I exactly know how you feel, and that's why I hate to play as a Radiant. Good point sir!

To anyone interested, there is a config option for Dota 2, that actually fixes this problem.

1. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg (Or your equivalent Dota 2 folder, but that's the most common place for the folder)
2. Create a text file, open it, then click Save As and name it autoexec.cfg and then save it.
3. Go to this useful site: Dota 2 Config Generator
4. Customize it how you want (has lots of awesome and helpful options, but change those at your own risk.
5. Go to the Minimap Misclick Delay and this is the option you want. What it does: When you move your mouse over the minimap, clicking on it will do NOTHING, until the delay ends, this really helps misclicking. (I set the option to 0.5, or 0.5 seconds)
6. Download the file and replace the file you created earlier.
7. Launch Dota 2
8. ???
9. Stop dieing by misclicking on the map.

Gonna have to try this, since I *facepalm* far too often, having clicked minimap when fleeing

PostSubject: Re: Running away and click accidentaly on the minimap

I found a very informative post full of some useful commands for you. I've used a handful of them and it has been beyond helpful.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=337793
The command you're looking for is:

dota_minimap_misclick_time

However I recommend you not follow the intro section unless you actually know something about console scripts. Though I suppose you can, I'm just not sure how well it works. Instead, you can follow these simple instructions to enable the console.
- Right click 'Dota 2' in your steam games list
- Click on 'Properties'
- Click on 'Set Launch Options'
- Type in the field "-console" no quotes
This will bring up the console every time you start up Dota 2. Just remove the line in your preference menu to disable the console again if it bothers you.

*Edit: I skipped over section two of the post, all of the launch options are right there, including more than just -console. Silly me Razz

Extra extra extra! Read all about it! Brand new discovery found; never cancel a teleport again, try shift clicking to move during the teleport!
Really, nothing special, shift ques your next action. Works great for things like epicenter + blink dagger too, never miss a single pulse.
(Nor is it new, that's just poor sarcasm.)

If I'm fleeing in lane, I always have to micro around creep waves so they don't accidentally slow me up. Otherwise, I use the minimap. Even so it will still happen, which is why I generally hate the radiant side Razz
